The Organization of State Health Services (ΟΚΥπΥ) is conducting an investigation into allegations of delayed response from the emergency number 112 and the ambulance service that are connected to the death of a 57-year-old man in the Famagusta region. The reports indicate that the man's family asserts that despite several calls to 112 and the ambulance service following the incident on July 1, assistance did not arrive in time.
Spokesperson Charalambos Charalambous clarified that 112 is not part of ΟΚΥπΥ, emphasizing that the investigation aims to uncover all relevant details surrounding this case. The inquiry was initiated in response to serious claims circulating on social media regarding the emergency response. Additionally, the late man's daughter expressed her intentions to pursue legal action, citing the alleged negligence as a contributing factor to her father's death.
Various media outlets have reported on the seriousness of the situation and the ongoing efforts by ΟΚΥπΥ to address these claims and ensure accountability.
